More MIA Recipes found in 4.1

Apparently a handful of the "lost" recipes in Cataclysm were put back into the game as undocumented changes for the 4.1 patch. Yesterday I stumbled across the Shadow Oil recipe in the process of training my Junior Alchemist. After that I hit up all the various trainers and found quite a few of our missing recipes. I've written about this previously and some of those items have reappeared. For the record, none of these changes were mentioned in the patch notes.

Shadow Oil FOUND!

That's right, Shadow Oil is no longer MIA. I found it on the trainer when I went to pick up some new recipes for my second Alchemist. The skill level is still 165 but the mats have been greatly reduced. Only 2 grave moss are needed now, vs the 4 grave moss and 4 fadeleaf it previously required. Here's a little pic I took from the trainer:

You can see here the skill level needed to train and the new mats for Shadow Oil. Those of you who were lacking this recipe can now get it again :)

Patch 4.1 Tradeskill Changes

I went through the "official" patch notes last night and compiled this list of changes that are related to professions. It's pretty skimpy, but I thought I'd go ahead and post it for those of you who didn't want to wade through the whole thing looking for crafting nuggets. Hopefully this list will give you some ideas of things to prepare for or focus your energies on when the servers come back up:

New Cooking Daily Quests in 4.1 (Part 2)

Helpful pictures coming later today :)

Keepin' the Haggis Flowin': Collect a bunch of ingredients from around Ironforge. Easy. The Meat vendor (Sognar Cliffbeard) can be found walking around the Military Ward. He sells the sheep innards for 5 silver.

Remembering the Ancestors: Pick up the blessed rice cakes from the Temple of the Moon. These are on a table near the portals. Take them to the shrine behind the Craftsmen's Terrace (far east side of town).

New Fishing Daily Quests in 4.1 (Part 2)

This is Part Two of my posts on the new Daily Fishing Quests. If you missed Part One you can go back and see it here. These are the remaining daily quests that I was able to try out on the Test Realm for Patch 4.1, which is supposed to be going live tomorrow. I hope everyone has fun tomorrow and enjoys the new content!

New Fishing Daily Quests in 4.1 (Part 1)

For those of you who don't like surprises, I've tried to include extra detail where appropriate. A good number of these quests are straight-forward, but a few of them come with a twist :)

Fish Head: Pretty simple, just reel in a fish head from the sewers of the Undercity and take it to
the Alchemy trainer in the Apothecarium.

The Ring's the Thing: Fish up blind cavefish at the Pools of Vision in Thunder Bluff and gut them until you find Poshken's Ring. This seems like the Horde version of the Monkfish quest.

Current Crafting Dailies

I got an email a couple of days ago from a reader who's looking for a good resource for daily quests:

"Do you know of anyplace I can get a list of the professions dailies (yep all of them , or most anyway) and the level required to participate in them? I read about dailies and have no idea if I can find them, participate or even find them! I find a few, but am totally stumped."

New Cooking Daily Quests in 4.1 (Part 1)

Late last week we got a new build on the Test Realm with all-new Cooking and Fishing quests! Last week a build went up that's been labeled as a "release" build, so new content may well be imminent. I finally got my new graphics card installed and started rocking the new daily quests for you guys :)

Cooking Vendor Change in 4.1

We've had some inquiries about this situation, so I wanted to get the full details out to you guys before the patch. I'm still operating without a graphics card here, so I apologize for the low quality images I'm sharing. The important part is the information and hopefully you can overlook the rest :)

Graphics Went Kablooey

Last night Windows started locking up on me while I was playing WoW and after many reboots and several virus scans we seem to have identified my graphics card as the problem. I can't really WoW without a graphics card, but I have a new one on the way with 2-day shipping. My next Cooking post will be delayed a day or two while I get the wee netbook patched up, or come up with a Plan B to hold me over the weekend.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have another post I'd like to have up before next Tuesday but I may not get it done in time. I guess I should be happy that it's not something worse right?

Rift Crafting Review

Last week one of our readers was kind enough to send me a trial code for last weekend's "Allies of the Ascended" event in Rift. I spent the weekend investigating the crafting system in Rift and I put together this overview/review for those of you who are interested.
