Epic Gem Changes Already

So there was a Blue post on Monday indicating more changes to the epic gem transmutes that were just discovered last week.  Most importantly to all Alchemists is the addition of a cooldown:

How to Make a Wormhole

First, I want to thank all you guys who left comments about the new Engineering changes that were published yesterday.  I spent most of Monday at airports and on planes, so I was unaware that new tradeskill changes had occurred.  From what I've seen, Engineers are rejoicing at all the new toys coming their way and I certainly don't blame them.  Patch 3.2 looks to be the patch that us tinkers were waiting for :)

Vacation Notice!

Just want to let you all know that I am going out of town today and not returning for two weeks (7/13).  I am taking a small netbook with me and will be checking in when I can.  I also have the Test Realm software installed and I'll do my best to stay on top of PTR updates.  Posts may be sporadic though, just wanted you guys know what's up :)

Other craftables in Patch 3.2

I wasn't able to find enough data for some of the other tradeskills on the 3.2 Test Realm, so I'm just going to combine this information into one post.  Here are some screenshots I took of new recipes in Leatherworking, Inscription and Engineering, plus a couple of items for Alchemy and Jewelcrafting:

Titanium Prospecting Results (Patch 3.2)

I brought two stacks of Titanium with me and farmed a third stack on the PTR yesterday.  So I had 3 stacks of ore to test prospecting with - I know it's not a huge sample.  As soon as the character copies open up again I'm going to send more ore across to expand on this list.

New Alchemy Recipes from Patch 3.2

So I popped into the Test Realm this morning and found new Alchemy recipes on the trainer in Dalaran.  They weren't there yesterday when I checked, but they brought the server down around suppertime so perhaps that's when they were added.  Anyway, these are the new recipes from the Alchemy trainer.  They may not be 100% accurate - I don't have my Alchemist copied yet so I was just going by memory.

Epic Gem Vendor coming in 3.2

As mentioned in one of my previous posts, there will be a new epic gem vendor in the next patch.  Technically he's not new, it's the current badge vendor Harold Winston.  The good news here is that we'll be able to purchase epic gems with Badges of Heroism!  This is great for non-jewelcrafters who won't be able to prospect their own ore.  And it follows in the tradition of the precedent set in Burning Crusade, so it's not really shocking.  It's nice though =)

Epic Gems from Patch 3.2 (part 2)

Here's some more images of the gem recipes I found earlier today, I'm just dumping them all in one big gallery :)  Enjoy!

Epic Gems from Patch 3.2 (part 1)

There are 70+ new epic gem recipes on the Test Realm right now and I'm bringing them to you LIVE and IN COLOR =)

Midsummer Guide Repost + Update

For folks who missed this last year or don't want to go digging for the link, here's our Midsummer Festival Guide from last year.

Patch 3.2 info trickles out...

Some of you may have noticed over the past few days that Profession changes have started to make their way into the official patch notes. There's a lot of great stuff to digest there, but the one that I'm the most excited about is this:

Top 5 Lists

Ok, so I've been playing a bit more with WoWPopular :) I put together a few lists for you guys, just to see what you think of the results.  This is an approximation (based on their star ranking) of the five most popular crafted items for various tradeskills:

Fun with Number Crunchin'

Last week I found a couple of web sites that really peaked my interest.  In fact, I kind of wish I'd known about them prior to the 3.1 patch.  One has been around quite awhile: WarcraftRealms.  This site collects population statistics for all servers and you can filter based on a number of criteria.  What does this have to do with crafting?  Well if you're a crafter, it helps to know what classes are more popular than others.  I mean, you could use your personal observations if you like.  But for those who prefer facts and figures, you can check WarcraftRealms instead.

It's all about the Space Baby!

In the last post I touched on space issues in WoW and the impact they have on our gaming experience.  There were a lot of points that I left unsaid, so I thought I'd delve into that a bit more as a separate post.  Space is something that affects all of us and I think we all struggle with it at one point or another.  We start out with one bag and very early on we start purchasing additional bags.  Then we start segregating our junk between the bank and our bags.  At some point we realize this isn't sufficient for our needs and we start creating alts to house our extra stuff.

What's Your Style?

I read this entertaining post over at WoWenomics the other day, and found this horribly accurate description of myself:

Are Craftables Back?

For the last couple of months I've been working on my hunter and warrior alts.  My hunter just reached 80 about ten days ago, and since then I've been gearing her up a bit.  Of course I started with crafting her some goodies as well as scoping the auction for BOE gear.  I've also been going back to Kaliope's feral gear and looking for ways to beef her up - she's still wearing some 70 epics from last year.  Ugh, I'm soooo last year!!
