Winter Veil has started this year and while most of it revolves around achievements and quests, there are a few items that crafters may want to pick up. Some of these recipes will arrive in the mail including a Cooking recipe, a Leatherworking recipe and a Tailoring recipe. These items are needed to complete achievements, so making them will help you take advantage of the Winter Veil frenzy. It's also fun to run around town in your Red Winter Outfit - Ho Ho Ho!
Other recipes can be found in the various gifts that are handed out for doing Winter Veil quests. If you're missing any of the Winter Veil recipes (Edge of Winter, Elixir of Frost Power, SnowMaster 9000, Winter's Might Enchant, Gloves of the Greatfather and the Green Holiday Shirt) make sure you do ALL of the Winter Veil quests. Any of the "gift" rewards you are given can contain one of these items. You'll probably see lots of them popping up on the Auction House if you don't want to play the RNG game with gifts. As a side note, you get a ton of Goblin rep for doing Winter Veil quests!
For Cooks who are working on the Chef de Cuisine achievement, you'll want to make sure you have the Hot Apple Cider, Egg Nog and Gingerbread Cookie recipe. You should receive the Apple Cider recipe in the mail for any toons who are eligible. The nog and cookie recipes are sold by the Winter Veil goblins located in major cities. You can only pick up these items during this seasonal event, so grab them before the end of the year!
One more item for folks who enjoy a challenge. Those of you who've been following me for a while may remember my big adventure into enemy territory to get the Tailoring recipe from the opposing faction. I plan to try again this year and see if I can nab it for another toon. Anyone else who wants to give this a try can check out Smells Like Green Spirit and The Mage Takes the Cheese from last year for the particulars.
Have fun and let us know how your cross-faction adventure turns out!
