One article I found mentioned patch notes for the Beta, but had no actual link to them. I also couldn't seem to navigate to it from the official site (they are still showing the 2.4.3 patch notes), but I found it by searching with Google. For the curious, you can see the official Beta patch notes here:

While there's quite a bit of info spanning 4 separate "posts", I'm disappointed with this section:
- The following tradeskills are available to train up to 425: First Aid, Herbalism, Mining, Skinning, Enchanting, and Leatherworking.
Ouch, talk about skimpy. This says pretty much nothing about professions although I gather from the various WoWInsider posts that there's quite a bit of info you can dredge up if you're willing to troll the Beta database. The only thing I can gather from this is that tradeskills are minimally implemented at this time, so for now I suppose we just get to speculate.
Meanwhile, I've been reviewing the new Achievements page and I'm tickled that there are some tradeskill related Achievements. I really hope there's a title available for those of us who've maxed out every available profession slot on our toons (two primary and all three secondary), some sort of "Crafting Guru" designation. Alternately, they could give us a title for each profession we raise to the cap. I would certainly love to get a "Master Angler" title for my 375 Fishing ability, or "Master Chef" for 375 in Cooking. And as a healer, I think it would be a kick to show up as "Head Nurse" on my next guild raid, heheh.
I also like some of the other fun-oriented Achievements, such as the pet collection that was mentioned. I have a ton of pets and I never delete them, so this would be cake for me. And I think the Barber Shop idea is brilliant, I'm just hoping they don't require too many points to modify your look. As a female gamer, I'd love to be able to change my appearance at least a few times a month. If they make the Achievement points too difficult to collect, that could put a damper on my trendy-factor.
Meanwhile, I'll be keeping an eye on the beta news as it trickles out...
