Calling all Artists!

We here at Crafter's Tome (and my blog) have been looking for ways to generate revenue from the site. Shocking right? We tried Google ads, but unfortunately they interpret our content a bit too literally, which wasn't terribly useful to anyone.

Since abandoning that approach, we have been trying to think of ways that we could help ourselves and do something beneficial for our users as well. Something a bit more exciting than "pay to remove the pesky ads!". We have a couple of ideas that we think you guys will be jazzed about. The main one requires quite a bit of coding on the hubbie's part, so that will be another month or two before we can run with it.

The other doesn't require coding, but it does require expertise that we don't have. An artist - a real one :) We have some really fun ideas, but we're just geeks here. So we thought we'd bring the dilemma to you, the readers. We need an artist who has decent ability with fantasy art. If you think this is you - drop me a line! No anime please, we are looking for WoW inspired artwork. We will provide the concepts and we are willing to provide modest compensation to someone who can create the images for us.

I'm also posting a page on the Crafter's Tome site for those who don't read my blog <gasp!>. If you know someone who might be interested, feel free to direct them to the site for more details.

  2. I was given a link to this page by Damh of Big Red Kitty.

I'm currently working on some WoW related images for him. I can possibly help you with your dilema as well.

Email me for links to my artwork for reference. Or go to Big Red Kitty's blogspot and see the Damh I'm working on for him. :)

  3. I'm interested in both World of Warcraft and site development, particularly with an eye to getting some revenue back from sites. Might I suggest that you check out Text Link Ads (http://www.text-link-ads.com/?ref=29624) ? They're an excellent service, and it's a steady income. I use them on dukestreet.org myself.

You might also get some usage from Project Wonderful, which I also use on dukestreet, although the money isn't nearly as good.

  5. We're actually working with two different artists now to create designs for our new project. We're hoping to have something ready to show in 4-6 weeks!
